Last week, I bumped into a childhood friend in a grocery store. We talked about our careers (or the lack of it) and our classmates who are now married and have kids. She just passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensing Examination.

Then suddenly, memories of our Commencement Exercises back in Kindergarten flashed in my mind. Aside from the typical diploma-giving ceremony, we had a portion there called “Class Prophecy.” In a Class Prophecy, you have to speak in front of the crowd, including your proud parents, and say what you want to be in the future and the reason why. I said back then, “I wanna be doctor to help the needy people.” The funny thing is currently I am sooo far from being a doctor. I hope no one remembers that ‘prophecy.”
